These data sets consist of data from a test where a unit is tested with only two possible outcomes: success or failure.<\/p>\n<p>The Grouped per Configuration data type is used when multiple units are tested and the number of units that fail are recorded for each configuration. Each stage of testing represents a unique configuration. Improvements are made to the system after all of the units within a given stage have been tested.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0093d5;\">Background<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>A one-shot system under development underwent reliability growth testing for a total of 68 trials. Corrective actions were incorporated after the 14th, 33rd and 48th trials. The configuration was not changed from trial 49 to 68. The trials and failures for each configuration are shown next, with cumulative values in <strong>bold<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Configuration 1 (trials 1 to <strong>14<\/strong>) experienced <strong>5<\/strong> failures.<\/li>\n<li>Configuration 2 (trials 15 to <strong>33<\/strong>) experienced 3 failures (for a total of <strong>8<\/strong> failures).<\/li>\n<li>Configuration 3 (trials 34 to <strong>48<\/strong>) experienced 4 failures (for a total of <strong>12<\/strong> failures).<\/li>\n<li>Configuration 4 (trials 49 to <strong>68<\/strong>) experienced 4 failures (for a total of <strong>16<\/strong> failures).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The reliability of the final configuration is calculated in this example using the Crow-AMSAA (NHPP) model. The goal is to determine the reliability achieved by Configuration 4.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0093d5;\">Analysis and Results<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>A standard folio data sheet configured for the Grouped Failure Times data type is created by selecting <strong>Discrete Data &gt; <\/strong><b>Grouped per Configuration <\/b>\u00a0in the RGA Folio Data Sheet Setup window, as shown next.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"dt_column_23\" class=\"dt_column col-sm-5\"><div id=\"dt_image24\" class=\"dt_image\"><div class=\"image-align-center\"><img decoding=\"async\"  class=\"img-responsive style-default\" src=\"http:\/\/www.safetyangel.com\/recdev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Untitled-441.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/div><\/div><div id=\"dt_text25177728695281\" class=\"dt_text\">\n<p class=\"caption\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Figure 1: Selecting the data type for the new folio.<\/p>\n<p>The data set is then entered and the Crow-AMSAA (NHPP) model is selected for analysis, as shown next. This is the only option available for this data type and model.
