Synthesis Platform

Integration to Empower the Reliability Organization

The Synthesis API

Application Programming Interface (API) for the Synthesis Platform

The Synthesis Platform’s Application Programming Interface (API) enables you to connect Synthesis applications and data with other systems and tools used within your organization.

Transfer and synchronize data via XML.

For structured data (such as system hierarchies/BOMs, incidents, work orders and RBD configurations), you can use XML files and the API to manage data transfer and synchronization between the Synthesis Platform and a variety of different PLMs, ERPs, CMMS and other external systems.

Input/output specific data elements and analyses.

You can also use the API to directly read from or write to specific data elements in a Synthesis repository. The possibilities are endless… obtain calculated results from an analyzed folio or diagram, initiate batch processing, load data into the Synthesis Data Warehouse, and much more!

Why use an API for System Integration?

Widely considered to be the most flexible and robust way to integrate different software applications, an API takes the user out of the equation and allows one software application to interact with another. Some of the benefits of this approach include:

  • Faster and easier to implement updates when there are changes to any of the applications that share data.
  • Flexibility to allow you to decide what data gets transferred, as well as when and how.
  • Opportunity to validate and clean up data from the source software before it is placed in the destination software.
  • Not limited to specific applications/versions that a software vendor knows about and has decided to support.
