Our mission is to lead innovation by providing the most advanced solutions in reliability and sustainability to empower…
REC is looking to the future by aligning business goals with Saudi Arabia’s 2030 Vision. Part of this is investing in our young people and their future.
Reliability Expert Center was established with the strategic vision of spreading a reliability and sustainability culture across Saudi Arabia.
The CRE is a professional certification program for reliability engineers. It has been designed to distinguish professionals who have gained and successfully demonstrated unquestionable expertise in the field of reliability engineering.
This certification program is customized program developed to focus more on refineries, petrochemicals, Oil & Gas industries.
This program contains five Activities.
Selection & Qualification: The candidates are selected based on the educational qualification, work experience and the skills and knowledge.
Training Program: Selected candidate have to undergo a series of training courses focused on underlying concepts of reliability engineering. Training courses are designed by considering reliability in asset management.
Examination: After completion of each training courses candidate is required to pass a written examination.
Project Execution: Candidate required complete a project that demonstrate the ability to apply the learned concepts of Reliability Engineering in a way that will be benefit his organization. Candidate will be assisted in selecting the project that will be further approved by his management.
Presentation/Publication: Successfully apply the learned concepts of Reliability Engineering in workplace and present this expertise to CRE Committee which serves as the overall technical advisory for certifications programs to address the reliability related activities and may make recommendations for improvement and enhancement. It is formed with a contribution of group of expert consultant from REC, ReliaSoft and candidate organization.
To achieve CRE certification, candidates must complete a series of training courses focused on important reliability concepts followed by examination, project and presentation.
Achieving CRE certification is based on five elements: Selection, Learn, Write, Apply and Present. Each element in the certification process earns points called “CRE Points”. 100 CRE points are needed for certification and must be completed in a maximum of 2 years span.
A. Selection and Qualification
A candidate must have an engineering degree* from a reputed college, university, or technical school and must have an on-job experience.
B. Training Program
Certification must be earned through attending a series of training courses. Courses will be taught through conducting training on customers prescribed time period if it’s scheduled In-House or candidate may attend our public events. 25 of the 100 CRE Points can be earned in training courses.
In order to assure that all Certified Reliability Engineers & Professionals possess the minimum required skills for performing reliability-related work, all participants must complete 25 CRE points. Training courses are designed on Reliability Engineering Asset Management Track which includes potential subjects. Please see the below listed training list.
At the end of each training course, candidate is required to pass a written test consisting of multiple choice questions that measure the understanding or knowledge of the course content.
C. Examination
25 of the 100 CRE Points can be earned by completing the examination requirement.
D. Project
Upon completion of all training courses and passing the examination the candidate conceives a project that applies relevant reliability concepts and techniques in a way that will benefit his organization.
The scope of the project should be:
After successfully passing the written examination for the training courses, the candidate develop a project abstract and get an approval from his organization and a project mentor assigned from REC.
At project completion, the candidate shall submit the final project report to REC mentor for review and approval.
25 of the 100 CRE points can be earned by completing the project requirement.
E. Presentation
The candidate shall present his completed project to CRE committee from REC and his organization. The CRE committee members consist of project mentor, REC’s senior reliability consultant, REC representative, candidate organization’s supervisor/manager and candidate organization’s reliability manager.
25 of the 100 CRE points can be earned by completing the project presentation requirement.
When candidate become certified reliability engineer (CRE) and interested to become international certified reliability professional (CRP), candidate must publish his project in international conference, symposium or journals.
