Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

One of the most important activities of asset performance management is to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) that quantify the critical success factors of the maintenance organization. The Orion eAPI system includes a KPI module where users can configure their own individualized KPI dashboards. The dashboard can present results such as MBTF, MTTF and number of failures, as well as various availability, downtime and cost metrics. The KPIs can be viewed in a variety of ways and the dashboard allows drill-down to see the details of each indicator all the way down to the bottom level of the company’s functional structure.

The user can set up alerts for any KPI and for any functional structure level (e.g., area, TAG parent, TAG child, etc). These alerts can be sent by e-mail and/or displayed in the personalized user/group portals; and they are triggered when the KPI reaches the user-specified warning or critical level. The system also displays the best (benchmark) and worst KPI values of the company’s history.
